“The Hidden History”.

A journey into the heart of restoration. A guided tour inside the Church and former of S. Monica.

Architect Cristiano Ferrari will lead visitors on a walk through the construction site to discover the progress of the recovery and seismic retrofitting works, fourteen years after the Emilia earthquake. The sixteenth-century complex, which overlooks one of the minor arteries of the Herculean Addition (Addizione Erculea), was originally built to house a high-born community of cloistered nuns, changing its purpose multiple times over the centuries. The former convent will once again host vocational schools for chefs and hairdressers, while the long-deconsecrated church will be transformed into a multifunctional hall connected to the rectory, which in turn will be converted into offices and study rooms.
