Church of S. Michele Arcangelo
The conservative restoration project is part of a wider restoration project with seismic improvement, together with the definition of strategies for the removal of architectural barriers.

The history of the church began around 1250, located in today's southern part of the centre of Fermo, taking the name of S. Angelo in Pila. The present appearance was the result of restoration work which took place in 1818 and of the original façade only the Romanesque-Gothic portal remains.
The exterior is now distinguished by a regular brick exposed-face wall. Inside, the church has a single nave with sixteen Corinthian columns; the semicircular apse is adorned with painted marbles.
The operational and design logic that will guide the entire implementation phase is based on the principles of the Restoration Charts, namely distinguishability, compatibility, minimum intervention, authenticity and, as far as possible, reversibility.
