Palazzone di Marrara
Located in the heart of the village of Marrara, close to the right embankment of the Po di Primaro River, the Palazzone has served multiple functions over the centuries: from being the residence of the Boari family in the 19th century, to hosting commercial activities and social services during the same period, and later becoming the local Casa del Fascio in the early decades of the 20th century.
Towards the end of the 20th century, the building gradually lost its importance due to the progressive decline in users and visitors. Over time, the ground-floor shops, the café, and the recreational center disappeared.
The project aims to breathe new life into the building, enhancing its history and its role within the local community.

The adaptive reuse project for the Palazzone of Marrara responds to the current needs of the local community. Shops will return, together with spaces for social and recreational activities, a medical office, a café, a diner, and a hostel.
The adaptive reuse project for the Palazzone of Marrara is a PNRR-funded intervention that combines historic restoration and sustainability.
In compliance with DNSH principles and CAM criteria, the project aims to achieve seismic upgrading, energy efficiency through geothermal probes, and the creation of spaces dedicated to cycle logistics.
The project also guarantees the recovery of 70% of construction waste and the use of certified materials.
This is a resilient project intended to bring new life to a historic landmark of the village of Marrara.
After decades of abandonment, this historic building will be returned to the community, enhancing both its historical memory and its social function.
