Rectory Church of S. Maria Immacolata all'esquilino
The neo-Gothic complex of S. Maria Immacolata all'Esquilino was part of a project by the architect A. Curri for the transformation of a pre-existing school building. The church, dating back to some time between 1900 and 1909, represents the conclusion of a more extensive construction process initiated by the Franciscan order of the Bigi Friars of Casoria, the original owners of the property.
The proposal for action stems from a detailed historical analysis and the careful drafting of architectural, photographic, material and pathological degradation surveys, which highlighted the need for total renovation of the exterior part.
In addition to targeted operations for the restoration of the flat roof and the repair and replacement of damaged parts, the colour study carried out both on the façade and on the urban backdrop is particularly significant; this led to a complete revamp of the final colour tone, which went from a yellowish brown Siena to a dark ochre type grey.
