Summer residence of the Pontifical Roman Major Seminary
Structural rehabilitation and seismic upgrading project for the summer residence of the Pontifical Roman Major Seminary, located in the municipality of Roccantica.
The building stands on the site of the former Convent of Saint Anthony, founded in the 15th century. Expanded during the 20th century with reinforced concrete structures, the complex suffered extensive damage from the earthquakes of 1915 and 1997, and was ultimately abandoned and declared uninhabitable following the 2016 earthquakes.
The project involves the central quadrangular block (the ancient Franciscan convent and its cloister), the Church of Saint Anthony of Padua with its bell tower, and the 20th-century additions, including the reinforced concrete wing built in the 1920s.
